Alan D. Eisler concentrates in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors' rights, and commercial litigation, representing commercial lenders, leasing companies, private investors, small to large businesses, and individuals. He regularly litigates in the federal and state courts of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
In addition to representing businesses reorganizing in Chapter 11, Mr. Eisler helps clients buy and sell assets in bankruptcy cases. He has extensive experience representing debtors, creditors and bankruptcy trustees in adversary proceedings involving preferential transfers, fraudulent conveyances, and objections to the dischargeability of debts. Mr. Eisler is Board Certified in consumer bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification
Mr. Eisler is President-Elect and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland. He previously served as the association's Treasurer (2007-2008), Secretary (2006-2007), Chair of the Greenbelt Division (2004-2005 and 2001-2002), and on the Judicial Nominations and Local Rules committees. He is currently Counselor to the Congressman Walter Chandler American Inn of Court where he previously served as Secretary-Treasurer (2009-2010) and Program Chair (2006-2008). In March 2010, Mr. Eisler was elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Governors for the Maryland State Bar Association.
A frequent speaker on bankruptcy topics before bar association groups, many of Mr. Eisler's speeches focus on the treatment of federal and state tax liens and the ability to discharge taxes in bankruptcy. He has spoken at the American Bar Association's annual meeting on four occasions and has also made numerous appearances on local television and radio programs. Mr. Eisler is a member of the American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, and Montgomery County Bar Association.

- Washingtonian Magazine: In its bi-annual December Top Lawyer's edition, Washingtonian Magazine named Mr. Eisler one of the Washington metropolitan area's best bankruptcy attorneys in 2007 and 2009.
- Maryland and District of Columbia Super Lawyer: In 2007, 2008, and 2009, Mr. Eisler was selected as a Maryland and District of Columbia Super Lawyer, recognitions bestowed on only 5% of Maryland and District of Columbia attorneys.
- Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition: In 2009 and 2010, Mr. Eisler was also named a top attorney in business services for bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights in the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition.
